Spiced rum and chestnut winter cocktail recipe
A comforting cocktail with warm flavours
This cocktail harmoniously combines rich and enveloping flavours, perfect for moments of relaxation. Each ingredient has been carefully selected to create a unique taste experience that is both rich and balanced.
Key ingredients and their roles
This cocktail elegantly blends carefully chosen ingredients to create a perfect harmony between power, sweetness and complexity. Spiced amber rum provides a warm and enveloping base, enriched with vanilla and woody notes, while Briottet chestnut cream adds a subtle, slightly toasted sweetness.
To balance the whole, amaro, a bitter and aromatic Italian liqueur, often made from herbs, bark, roots and spices, adds a touch of refined bitterness. Angostura, meanwhile, is an iconic bitters from Trinidad and Tobago, made from a secret blend of herbs, spices and bark macerated in alcohol. Just a few centilitres are enough to add a subtle spice and unique aromatic depth.
Finally, maple syrup rounds it all off with a natural and comforting sweetness, creating a rich and harmonious taste experience.
A perfect balance for ideal tasting
Easy to enjoy, this cocktail is balanced, warm and pleasant, with a smooth and slightly spicy finish. Created by Inverarity Morton, it is ideal for the end of a meal or a quiet evening, to be savoured slowly.
For a change of pace, try the Chestnut Manhattan, another winter cocktail where chestnut cream meets whisky for an equally captivating result.
