Who is Le Petit Futé?
The history of Le Petit Futé
The history of Le Petit Futé began in 1976 with two H.E.C. students, Dominique Auzias and Jean-Paul Labourdette. They set themselves the challenge of publishing a guide to the city of Nancy. Their gamble paid off, because 50 years later, Petit Futé guides are still going strong, covering more than 800 destinations in 189 countries around the world!
These city guides are now available in both print and digital formats. In fact, Petit Futé’s social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, for example, have a combined total of nearly one million followers.
The guide is very well known in France, the French overseas departments and territories, as well as in Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. Petit Futé guides are available in bookshops and supermarkets.
Petit Futé partners with many major tourism media outlets and continues to increase its presence at major national and international tourism industry events.
Who writes the Petit Futé reviews?
Petit Futé reviews are written by teams of editors. There are more than 400 of them working in the field at any given time. Their job is to select and test locations. What’s more, the editorial content is reviewed, corrected and expanded with each new edition.
The authors are local people who live in the area and know their city, region or country like the back of their hand.
It should be noted that Petit Futé is still an independent publishing house.
