Description

Ti’Vanille: a cocktail recipe inspired by Ti’Punch, featuring vanilla liqueur

Ti’Vanille is a indulgent and modern take on the traditional Ti’Punch. This recipe puts a new spin on the famous Caribbean cocktail by replacing the classic combination of sugar and lime with Briottet’s Madagascar vanilla liqueur, a new release for 2026 from Briottet.

With just two main ingredients, the Ti’Vanille highlights the character of the rum and the sweet, fragrant notes of the vanilla. A dash of lemon can be added to taste to bring a touch of freshness.

Why does Ti’Vanille put a new spin on Ti’Punch ?

The traditional Ti’Punch is generally based on a combination of rum, lime and sugar. Ti’Vanille captures the essence of this simple, straightforward recipe, but replaces the sugar and lime with the aromatic sweetness of Briottet vanilla liqueur.

This version allows you to discover another side to rum: rounder, more fragrant and indulgent, with vanilla at the heart of the tasting experience.

It’s worth noting that lime remains optional. It can be added in small quantities to create a contrast between the vanilla notes and a hint of acidity.

Which rum should you choose for a Ti’Vanille ?

When making a Ti’Vanille, opt for a rum whose flavours complement vanilla. An agricultural rum will generally bring out more herbal notes and freshness, whilst a rounder rum can emphasise the cocktail’s indulgent character.

The aim is to maintain a simple balance: 4 cl of rum to 2 cl of vanilla liqueur.

Tips for making a perfect Ti’Vanille

The recipe is deliberately simple. To create a well-balanced cocktail :

  • Stick to a ratio of 2 measures of rum to 1 measure of vanilla liqueur.
  • Add the lime juice gradually if necessary.
  • Stir gently, without diluting the cocktail too much.
  • Serve in a small glass suitable for short cocktails.
  • Adjust the amount of lime according to the flavour profile you’re aiming for.

Good to know :

Vanilla liqueur isn’t just for the Ti’ Vanille cocktail. Here are a few ways to enjoy it:

  • Neat, over ice : serve it chilled as an after-dinner drink to fully appreciate the richness of its flavours.
  • As a dessert : a dash over a scoop of vanilla-coconut ice cream or roasted pineapple enhances the dessert without overpowering it.
  • In coffee or hot chocolate : just a dash is enough to transform a classic hot drink into a indulgent and comforting treat.

Here’s another idea to try with our vanilla liqueur: the Espresso Martini. It’s usually made with vodka, espresso and coffee liqueur. By replacing all or part of the coffee liqueur with our vanilla liqueur, you get a rounder, more indulgent version.
