Our Armagnac VS has the appellation “Bas Armagnac”, since is it produced in the western part of the Gers department (county). It is made using the Colombard, Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grape varieties. Distillation is carried out using traditional armagnac stills, which do not produce huge quantities but play a vital role in obtaining the finesse of this armagnac.
Our Armagnac VS (for “Very Special”) is aged for three years in oak barrels.
Tasting notes: A pale yellow armagnac, glistening and crystalline. Its nose is slightly oaky, with a hint of vanilla.
In the mouth, the first impression is of a frank and sinewy armagnac. It is well-balanced, you know that you are drinking a high-alcohol armagnac but the alcohol is not aggressive, and gives way to notes of vanilla, fresh grapes and fresh apples.
The “fresh fruit” finish is rather long.
